Suncoast Yoga Teachers Association is now Florida Yoga Teachers Association

By Susan Wasserman

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are realizing that we have many members throughout the state, so why shouldn’t we formally extend the many perks of our membership to all Florida yoga teachers?

We believe in the quality of the practice. Yoga teachers represent an ancient and sacred tradition and we felt the need to create a new organization whose members will have the reputation throughout our state of truly “living their yoga” and practicing with grace and integrity. With this in mind, we created a new Statement of Ethics which all of our members should acknowledge when joining or renewing.

As we expand even more, we are imagining new events- such as an annual statewide conference in the future! At that time, volunteer opportunities will be available.

Active members of SYTA will automatically be members of FYTA and you will not owe dues until your SYTA anniversary date (you will get a reminder). Please take advantage of the many perks we are now offering- which include member discounts off of our semi-annual weekend workshops and a $20 discount off of professional liability insurance through Be Yogi. These two perks alone more than cover our annual dues, which are still inexpensive at $35 per year!

Additionally, feel free to use our blog page and events page to promote your teachings and list your events. If you need help, please contact our webmaster Elaine Simmons at elaine@elainesimmonsdesign.com.
